It’s like one twisted time capsule, 24288 HOURS LATER

“Time is the measurer of all things, but is itself immeasurable, and the grand discloser of all things, but is itself undisclosed” Chales Caleb Colton, Lacoon

24287 HOURS LATER-

I was sitting in my office -the same office I joined 3.5 years back after graduation, and I was reading my friend’s blog with some other friends. Ok I confess it was not in a good intention, we meant to gossip about the content 😉 … but then I remember I also used to write a blog when I was in University! Then I spent the next 15 minutes doing the following:

1. Trying hard to remember what it was called..and FAIL

2. Trying to Google my name followed by the word “blog”, and arrive in some random pages about restaurant and Andes mountain resort….super FAIL (and a bit lame…WHO in the world think it’ll be cool to Google their own name…shame on me!)

3. Digging my Yahoo account to find whatever blog-related email…and I MADE IT! I can re-access this blog and oh-boy-what-an-interesting-feeling-that-was! It’s like I’m opening some time capsule (do people still do time capsule these days? haha!) and being able to revisit the past!

like i'm flying back to the past!

24288 HOURS LATER-

I was scratching my head, smiling, and laughing primarily because of a couple of thoughts about my old posts like

  • “What was I thinking back then when I was writing such sad posts about some problem (or people)”. If I can meet the younger me back then I’ll say ‘seriously, it won’t even matter in the next 3 months’ 🙂
  • “There are some posts where I complain about assignments which I can’t even recall anymore”
  • “Oh my god I was writing about my ex-boyfriend!”
  • “OH MY GOD I WAS WRITING ABOUT NOKIA- and categorize that amongst my post about creativity and innovation”
  • “I can’t even imagine myself now making cup cake, or making scrapbook…not even close”
  • “Where is Madonna now?”

As questionable as it was, I remembered I used to love writing those posts. I remember I used to write a lot. For blogs, for magazine, for radio shows. Well now, I write a lot as well. For business reviews, marketing plans, and occasionally writing on my facebook wall during office hour 🙂 but I remember writing used to be a much more fun activity.

So today, 24288 hours after my last post, I hope I can make writing  a fun activity for myself once more!

Random Emotions, When our Heart is a Yo-Yo Played by Five Years Old Kiddo

Feelings are the most magnificent creation of god for human being! -or at least I thought so…. How ironic it is that we could feel extremely sad, and then extremely happy, verrry upset, then totally proud in one same day.

Sometimes it’s tiring tho to experience every kinds of emotions fluctuation, and sometimes we just feel that its too much. A friend of mine once said, you’ll never feel sad or happy unless you let your self. Even in your proudest moments, it is possible that you’re not feeling happy at all because your head simply doesn’t let you. Hmmmm how I envy those who just don’t let their themselves having sadness!

I’m a God Person When I’m Down, Forget Him When I’m Not , and Now It has to Stop

This is something that frequently happens.. and I’m also being part of people who needs to get her world up side down before turning her self in to god. May be its simply because when we are down we finally get in to a point where we realize that no one can help us except ourselves, and when we feel that we can’t handle things alone we just need other forces to help us out. Sometimes we don’t even expect Him to solve the problems, we just need someone to run in to when things are just so messed up.

Question is, why do we sometimes forget to praise Him when we are out of our dark moments? Sometimes we feel like things are going fine because we work hard for it, or we made sacrifices for it to happen. But isn’t it ironic knowing that nothing will be exist, not moments nor feelings, if He does not creates it.

Today I realize again, how small we are. We’re just one fragile being living in a gigantic social medium waiting for something that we don’t even know will comes up. Most of the time, I don’t prepare of what will be coming, and if the thunder strikes I will be devastated. Sometimes in times like that we just need a more intimate moment with Him, a moment where we could give ourselves and spit our heart out for someone we can’t even see or hear or touch, but we know He’s listening. Someone we can trust, rely on, and forces that we believe existed.

Blink. Blink. Blink.

Things are happening so fast, too fast sometimes! sometimes things happened at times when you are not ready for it yet, or you are in certain condition where you just felt not ready. Question is, is it really possible that forces out there gave you problems or obstacles which are impossible for you to tackle? Someone used to say to me, nothing is impossible exept for eating your own head. well, i personally did not agree with that statement to THAT level of extreme< hahha< but i agree that even when things felt so damn hard, people can always find ways to hang on. Things might change in a blink. One time we felt expremely blessed and another second we just felt like sh*t. so really, its not the matter of how fast things could change, but howstrong we are to deal with it. Recently I became part of the group who yelled “life is too damn hard rite now!”, hahha! But it doesn’t mean that we shall give up rite?

Pack Your Bags for Riooooo!

“Rio de Janeiro is famous for its natural settings, its Carnival celebrations, samba and other music, and hotel-lined tourist beaches, such as Copacabana and Ipanema, paved with decorated black and cream swirl pattern mosaics known locally as “pedra portuguesa”. Some of the most famous local landmarks in addition to the beaches include the giant statue of Jesus, known as Christ the Redeemer (‘Cristo Redentor’) atop Corcovado mountain, which has recently been named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World; Sugarloaf mountain (Pão de Açúcar) with its cable car; the Sambódromo, a giant permanent parade stand used during Carnival and Maracanã stadium, one of the world’s largest football stadiums.”

I was browsing for possible holiday options when suddenly I remenber one place that I really want to go to…. Aaaaaahh, Rio de Janeiro, how I wanted to go thereeeeee!

New Year is Near, and I Hate to Make Resolutions!

 colorful

A Harvard study of their graduates over thirty years found that there were only a small percentage (3%) of them who actually wrote down their goals–and these were the most successful! You can be certain that every one of those students had repeatedly heard the value of goal setting. Yet only 3% actually wrote down their goals consistently. Imagine what you can do if you both write down your goals and, then, focus on them consistently every day, every week, until they are accomplished!
What is it that causes what I call the “New Year’s Resolution Syndrome”? You probably know the one I’m thinking of. People make resolutions, work hard at them for a few weeks, maybe even a few months, and then forget them. Next year, they make the same New Year’s Resolutions. That is the syndrome. It is self- defeating and self-sabotaging. So why do so many people do it?

They may be making goals that are too global, too extensive, too unrealistic for the time frame, body type or current finances. That is not to say that they are not worthy goals. They need to be broken apart into smaller, more specific, attainable pieces. The elephant analogy is still the best one I know of to illustrate good goal setting. You probably know it. “How do you eat an elephant? One spoonful at a time.” So it is with goals. Make spoon size goals and accomplished them easily. One you’ve mastered this, get a bigger spoon! Hmmm, thats why next year I’ll try my best to make my resolutions come trueee!!!!

10 Paradoxes of Creative People

1. Creative people have a great deal of physical energy, but they’re also often quiet and at rest.

I SAY: Yaaaa, I do believe that creative people has tons of physical energy, well people might ask what is it for, but for me creative is not only about generating thoughts or idea, but also about making it feasible and able to be implemented. When creative people has an idea, it usually exceeds barriers existed in common thoughts. Therefore, when making their idea become reality they might be using tons of ways which requires great deals of physical energy because when one way fail, creative people did not give up!. In fact, not only having great deal f physical energy, I believe that they also have tons of spirit and mental energy. However, they are often swallowed with their creativity-generation moment, that is why we could often see them becomes very quite or at rest. It is not because they are blank-ing or anything, I believe that they actually think of something unordinary in their silence.

2. Creative people tend to be smart yet naive at the same time.

I SAY: I couldn’t be more agreed! Creative people tend to be smart, not necessarily has to be smart in terms of achieving academic scores but it is more related to street-smart. They can see social or intangible pattern, causes, symptom, or even potential ideas which are unseen by most of the people sometimes. However, when their mind took control and their ideas become larger-than-life, sometimes they just proposed ideas which seem to be not feasible. That is why people often took them as being naïve. But I guess, even after being accused as being naïve, they are not going to give up on their idea J

3. Creative people combine playfulness and discipline, or responsibility and irresponsibility.

I SAY: Being creative requires parts of us to be as explorative as we can be, and some parts of us that shall keeps us in certain condition where we are not crossing the line (which will might bring disadvantages for us, or even other people. That is why, creative people are playful (they explore creativity, think the un-thinkable, and dream outside the box), yet discipline (continuously develop their ideas and being persistent). They are also responsible (avoid conditions which will bring disadvantages), and irresponsible (setting no limitation on creative thinking!)

4. Creative people alternate between imagination and fantasy, and a rooted sense of reality.

I SAY: When creative people think, they did not consider about barriers existed in the “real-world” most of the time. They just envisaging thing as they want it to be, no matter how impossible it is. That is why they alternate between imagination and fantasy. However, they did not live on fantasy-land all the time. When it comes to making their idea feasible they also analyze possibilities and potentials existed and what might not have been existed but it is possible to create, thus they are rooted sense of reality.

5. Creative people trend to be both extroverted and introverted.

I SAY: creative people are also both extrovert and introvert. They are extrovert because they need to address their thoughts to other people because they highest form of creativity s generating creativity of others. Yet they still need private times where they are able to just stay in silence and imagining thins, therefore they are also introvert people.

6. Creative people are humble and proud at the same time.

I SAY: Creative people are proud of their thoughts, of what they believe in, of things that are unthinkable by other people, and for inventions which could bring benefits for the life of other. They are proud of their outcome, not attributes attached to them as a person (hmmm, except for brain and creativity-supporting attributes in some casesJ) because in person, creative people are humbled. They are being humble so that it would prevent them from easily satisfied and it will also generate more positive feedbacks from other people.

7. Creative people, to an extent, escape rigid gender role stereotyping.

I SAY: This is extremely true! Creative people exceeds stereotype about gender, in fact it is not only exceeding stereotype about gender but also some stereotypes existed in today’s world. Stereotyping could lead us to create barriers or lines between one group of stereotype and another. Creative people would just escape those stereotype, in this case gender stereotype, paradigm which would possibly create limitation for their creativity.

8. Creative people are both rebellious and conservative.

I SAY: there are lots of times when creative people refuse to think on the usual ways of thinking which are commonly used. This makes them rebellious, for refusing to follow the common means. However, when they already believe in their creative idea, they will not let others eliminate it or they won’t give it up if people tell them its impossible, this makes them conservative in their own ways.

9. Most creative people are very passionate about their work, yet they can be extremely objective about it as well.

I SAY: creative people usually generate their work from a “baby-step” so they had put their heart in to it, and most of the time they are working on subjects or field that they love or they create ways of doing things according to their preferences, therefore their passion towards their work is unquestionable. However, sometimes when they become highly passionate, they can be a bit idealistic and become extremely objective. Therefore, they need to surround their selves with people who can bring them back to subjective senses at times where it will be more beneficial.

10. Creative people’s openness and sensitivity often exposes them to suffering and pain, yet also to a great deal of enjoyment.

I SAY: being creative requires tons of determination, especially when we are proposing new ideas (openness) which create rejection among others, it will possibly offend us (sensitivity). The process of becoming creative to the highest level will often leads us to highly tough paths which will brings us pains and suffer. However, we are going through rough phases on doing something that we are really passionate about and really believes in. Knowing the expected result of their fight, I do believe that even though there are a lot of obstacles, creative people will still enjoy their works!
